Ming-Chun Lai was born in Nantou in 1994 and graduated from the Department of Visual Communication Design at Chaoyang University of Technology. While her early work focused on bold colors and figurative compositions, her style has recently evolved into a lighter aesthetic that cleverly combines the translucency of lacquer with diverse materials. She is also exploring new approaches that transcend traditional lacquer painting techniques; for instance, her "Traveling Time" series utilizes light and shadow to create the impression of light lingering within the artwork. Elements such as glass, plastic, and butterflies frequently appear in her work, stemming from a profound contemplation of time and reflecting her reactions to and reflections on modern life.
